I have been working on a project with my band and we recently put out some video blogs and I created the text intro for them and guess what!? I used the same techniques to create it as I did in the tutorials I made! So you can see them in action. I have added a few little effects to jazz it up and make it more unique but it’s pretty much the same thing as the tutorials.
Hey! You might be wondering what happened to the website, well I’ve been updating the theme! The new theme should tie my blog in with the other blogs we have running in our community.
The site might look a little odd for the next few days as I’m stiiiill tweaking the CSS to look awesome. Well let me know what you think, do you like the new theme? Think the old one was easier to use? Drop me a comment and let me know.
Over the past few weeks I’ve shown you how to add a cool gradient to your text, and animate the opacity, scale, rotation, and skew to make it look really funky and cool! Check out this compilation of the weeks work to see what I’m talking about!
Don’t forget to post your comments on the blog or even better if you have a go your self post up the text you make as a video response on YouTube!

This is the last in my short series of text animation tutorials for Adobe After Effects. In this video I show you how to use the Skew animator to make text seem elastic and cartoonish. I think on it’s own skew can look a bit boring and amateurish but used with the other effects I’ve shown you it looks really cool and stylish. Leave a comment to let me know what you think or if you’ve have a go hop over to my YouTube page and post it up as a video response!
This is just a sort tutorial to add a little more animation to the text we have so far. On their own the effects might look a little drab and simple but all together I think they make the text more awesome like and interesting to look at. OK it’s not dancing the fandango, but that would distract form your title sequence. It adds just enough animation to draw your eye to the text with out stealing the show. Check it out and don’t forget to tell me what you think!
Continuing on from the opacity effect I showed you yesterday. In this tutorial I show you how to add the Scale animator to your text to make it pop out, or sit back, into your composition. If you haven’t seen them I’d recommend going to see the previous two blogs to watch the series from the start. This is a very simple effect and when used together with the other animation effects I’m going to show you, they look awesome and stylish!
Yesterday I showed you how to add a gradient effect to your text in After Effects using the ramp tool (find this video here). Today I am going to show you how to add an animation preset and for the opacity value of the text and how to animate it.
Hey so here is my tutorial about adding a gradient effect to your text in Adobe After Effects CS4, it should also work in CS3, 7.0 and other versions of After Effects because it is a standard preset effect in After Effects. This is the first of a series of simple text effects for After Effects I will be doing. Hope you find this useful!
Saturday was part two of Quentin Tarantino interview, where he talks about all the music he uses in his films and what he listens to ^_^
I said I’d post it up when I remembered to listen to it! Well I’m listening to it right now so ima post it up. It’s to interesting listening to the way he chooses his music and how it comes to be.
I was watching a web series called “The birth of Leeroy” from Herculean Productions about the birth of the ever infamous Leeroy Jenkins. If you don’t know Leeroy is an internet phenomenon based on the World Of Warcraft video game. This is a short web series totally independent form the original yet highly amusing if you are a fan of the video game
What made me laugh was in the second episode they introduced a new character, a sexy rogue. Obviously the next episode she was not available, probably nuking some noobs in BGs or something, so they got a guy in a wig, then at another point it was a totally different woman! You should NEVER let your cast get in the way of telling your story! Especial on the internet, and for comedic value think about maybe firing cast members to do this on purpose
Also the guys from Lonely Island had a similar issue in “The BU” Which contains Sarah Chalke who you may have seen in the popular TV series Scrubs! I know I was like “WTH!? HOW did they get her to do this!? xD”. But after the first episode she seems to disappear and is replaced again by a guy in a wig, then later on as a giant puppet. They even replaced her in the title sequence at one point but she does later on return to the series!
