Growing vine animation: After Effects Tutorial Part 1 Photoshop

This is the first part of the tutorial for the Growing vine animation I’ve made! OK It’s a little in depth with Photoshop and not much After Effects but it’s it makes it a lot easier on you in After Effects if you can get the starting file in place. There are also a few cool little tricks I’ve learnt while doing this. When you create a folder in Photoshop and import the .PSD (PhotoShop Document) into After Effects it makes the folders compositions! How about that for connivence?

Working on Part 2 now, should be out later this week if not tomorrow! :D

How to make your videos look more professional: The importance of White Balance

White Balancing is a very simple process that you should do every time you film any video, you should do it every time you change location, turn a light on, or move the camera to face a different direction. It is one of the most important fundamental rituals that you should perform when getting ready to film and yet not every one even knows about it!

If you are having trouble with your videos looking red, green, blue or some other colour taking precedence and adding some kind of hue to the video then white balance is for you! it’s not always going to make everything perfect if you have really bad lighting but it will make a lot of your videos seem a lot more professional.

Example of an incorrect white balance Example with corrected white balance

How to export video In adobe after effects

In this video I show you how to export or render video in Adobe After Effects CS3, CS4. Its not as easy as it might seem and is unintuitive compared to some video software. Usually you tend to go for File > export but with After Effects you Render the video rather than import it. This is because of the animation and 3D effects that are used in After Effects.
