Free HD Stock Footage!

I was recently directed to a website containing free full HD 1920×1080 stock footage. Intrigued by this I decided to check it out and sure enough there it was. Still a small site at the minute it already contains some snazzy clips. I’ve already had a bit of a play with some of the smoke clips in After Effects and they work fine, though I haven’t decided what to do with them yet.

All the video files are in .wmv which isn’t usually what you would edit with but keeps the file size down. The site links to free converters should you not own one and require them in another format.

It still needs more clips to be as bit as one of the major stock footage providers but is a very good source for free. Defiantly a site I’d recommend checking out!

Free Stock Footage Resource!

I was recently looking for some stock footage to put behind my friend who was playing guitar infront of a green screen for a musical appeal. This lead me to a very nice website with completely free stock footage! It’s high quality SD and also some HD videos, royalty free and split into categories so it’s easy to find what you want.

It’s not the biggest collection of stock footage out there, in fact it’s kinda small, but it’s the best free site I’ve found so far. They might not have exactly what you are looking for but if they do then it’s perfectly set up to deliver.

The site is owned and operated by Footage Firm who sell royalty free stock footage.

Hey I found this link about Video Press, the new upgrade for Word Press. It looks pretty cool and if you are looking to upload your videos to you blog and don’t want to use YouTube then it;s a great option! Personally though I think uploading to YouTube is always a good idea because it allows you to access a larger community and bring more people to your blog.

I’d recommend you check it out though, it might be something you want to use as well ass YouTube.

Green Screen lighting tips

I found this video on YouTube where this guy talks about chroma keying and using a green screen. He talks about how to do it professionally and also amateur, or “Guerrilla” as he likes to call it. I found this video quite useful and it gave me some ideas on how to improve the lighting for my current green screen work.

Super Awesome text animation effect from Adobe After Effects Tutorial

Heeeey guys and girls!

I have been working on a project with my band and we recently put out some video blogs and I created the text intro for them and guess what!? I used the same techniques to create it as I did in the tutorials I made! So you can see them in action. I have added a few little effects to jazz it up and make it more unique but it’s pretty much the same thing as the tutorials.

I’ll also be showing you how to added the extra effects to finish it off later, but it’s my Birthday tomorrow so probably not for a couple days

Quentin Tarantino Film Music – Part 2

I found this website while looking at a fireball tutorial. It’s full of awesome free stock footage and movie special effects that look so frikin cool! I found a muzzle flash tutorial, various fire effects and some blood splatter. I particularly liked the Kapawwe tutorial containing all you need to turn your toy shot gun into a real firing weapon! Some of the stock footage you have to pay for but there is a lot you can use for free which Is awesome and will get you set creating realistic action movie effects in no time!

I’m planing on trying out the fireball effect myself and will upload the results as soon as it’s done!

Quentin Tarantino Film Music

I just found this radio interview with Quentin Tarantino talking about he record collection and how he uses it in his music. If you are serious about your film music you will find this facinating.
